It’s that time of year again in the office (and pretty much everywhere). There are chocolates and various other leftover treats from Christmas time that we are all trying to avoid saying ‘get those away from me’ to each other. It’s also the time of year where many of us are setting goals for the year ahead to ride a bit more and lead a healthier and greener lifestyle.

But there is no doubt that some people do criticise new year's resolutions, taking the attitude ‘oh that will never work’, or ‘I’ll never stick to it.’ With around a third of new year resolutions not making it past the month of January (yes January) you can understand the pessimism.

That being said, setting goals for the fresh 12 months ahead can only be a positive thing, especially when you are a cycling lover (like many of us and our customers are). The new year really is a great time to start afresh and make some changes in your life. One change that you most definitely will NOT regret is to just ride more in 2020.

As a company, our mission is to get more people on their bikes more often and help change the way we move. Cycling IS the answer to all of your new year’s resolutions, and we are here with some of our top tips and how we can help you stay motivated to ride more in 2020…

Set Your Goals And Track Them

It doesn't have to be a race, it can simply be a desire to have a healthier lifestyle. Perhaps you target a distance that you want to be able to ride, or set a goal of riding to work around 2-3 times a week. Whatever it is, you’ll start to feel the benefits very soon after!

Always Enjoy The Ride

There’s no doubt that you will enjoy the feeling of freedom that cycling brings. Make sure you don’t take it too seriously or be hard on yourself if you don’t meet your goals as fast as you wanted to!

Reward Yourself

Make sure you reward yourself for riding! Cycling burns a lot of calories, and for most of us, that means we can indulge slightly more, as long as we don’t overdo it!

Keep It Social

We very much see cycling as a social activity that you can do with your friends, colleagues and family. Here at See.Sense, we absolutely love heading out for a ride together after work or on the weekends.

See.Sense Ride Stats

The new See.Sense Ride Stats are a great way to keep yourself motivated. For the first time, See.Sense community members can now track their mileage, calories burned, and CO2 saved from biking. So if you own a See.Sense light, make sure you have downloaded the app and connected it to start seeing your ride stats and unique cycling facts and stats.

So... get out there and ride!
