The 12th August 2016 saw the end of our successful equity raise through the online public investment platform CrowdCube. With an initial target of £500,000 for the raise, we we’re completely overwhelmed at the response from the very beginning, reaching our target within 10 days of the campaign going live!
Thanks to the support of 523 investors, we ended the crowdfund with a total of £724,490 investment. The See.Sense team would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who invested in the round. Whether you pledged £10, or £50,000, it was your support that has made this achievement possible, unlocking the door to the next exciting part of the See.Sense journey.
Our mission is to reduce the barriers to cycling, namely by improving safety and reducing theft. But more than that, we empower the cyclist to become part of the solution collecting anonymous sensor data that can be used to create smarter cities for everyone.
The investment secured in this round will help us bring more innovative cycling products to market sooner, grow our team and help us develop into new markets particularly within the smart cities space. You might already know that See.Sense ICON is much more than just a bike light, it has the ability to maps cities in a way that has never been possible before. The sensor and communications technology allows profiling cyclists, the telemetry of the bike and the environment around it, capture realtime data about factors like the road surface quality, near misses and accidents and the most popular routes. Crowdsourced data has a viable role in a city’s eco strategy as it will provide a better understanding of cycling in cities and how better planning infrastructure will help to better integrate cycling within transport systems. With this investment, we can further develop the smart cities project by starting up more city trials like Smart Dublin and Milton Keynes. To find out more, visit our Smart Cities page.
