With small business Saturday coming up this weekend, we thought we would highlight some of the best local cycling businesses here in Northern Ireland. The popularity of Amazon and online shopping means it can be easy to overlook local business, but often some of the most innovative and exciting products are being created right at your doorstep. If you’re on the lookout for cycling gear, be sure to check out these businesses and support local!

Victory Chimp

Up first we’ve got a favourite of ours - Victory Chimp. Victory Chimp creates cycling art, apparel and accessories in their own unique style. All their products are designed here in Northern Ireland, with their designs strongly influenced by rides around the Sperrin Mountains. They’ve even got an entire clothing collection dedicated to the Sperrins! Their sienna and blue colour schemes are instantly recognisable.

Fustle is a relatively new Northern Irish cycling company, specialising in making custom off-road bikes. All Fustle bikes are built by hand, and you can choose from ready made spec bikes, or opt to have your own custom bike made and tuned exactly to your specifications. I think you'll agree that the Causeway BACKROAD featured here is a beauty of a bike!

Galibier specialise in cycling jerseys, gilets and accessories. Based in Northern Ireland but inspired by the Galibier Pass, they produce sleek, comfortable and stylish gear, with a strong focus on performance. You simply can't go wrong with Galibier gear.

Big Loop Bikes

Big Loop Bikes is a bike refurbishment social enterprise that has been running since 2017. Big Loop collects unused and unwanted bikes from the local community, and then recycles and refurbishes them for sale at pop up shops. They are now operating out of Queen’s University from Tuesday to Friday, and offer an extensive list of bike repairs and services. Truly a brilliant idea and well worth checking out.
