In the spirit of 'Nutrition And Hydration Week' and with the weather set to improve too (we hope), we thought it would be a good time to spotlight our top five products for refuelling on the bike.

So if you are training for a race this season, or for a summer sportive you have signed up to, or if you're just simply planning on getting out on the bike more often with the milder weather then these products will help hydrate and refuel you (and hopefully improve your performance!) on the bike.

Also, we will be giving away all five of these products along with a See.Sense ACE Rear Light on our Instagram page at 3pm on Wednesday 13th March, so make sure to check out our page here to enter.

1. Electrolytes - HIGH5 Energy Drink

Here at See.Sense we are all big fans of electrolytes drinks. Believe it or not, we actually use them when we are working long days and nights at cycling trade shows too! These ones from High5 are our absolute favourites and they taste amazing. The 'zero' version is also good as there is no added sugar - which means we can have that extra slice of cake.

2. Clif Bar - Peanut Butter

One of the best tips we can give you would be to never let yourself get hungry on the bike (especially when you are riding for one hour or longer). Keep one of these in your jersey pockets and it will keep you feeling full when you are a few miles in. If you are a fan of peanut butter at all then this will be a big hit with you...

3. Science In Sport Isotonic Energy Gels

Now for the racing staple product - the gels. If you are just starting out racing this season or getting back into it - then gels are perfect for giving you that 'pick me up' whenever you need it, but you can take them one hour before riding and during as well. SiS is great nutrition brand as they have a huge range of products - so there is something for everyone. This selection box will mean you can try lots of flavours out and then chose your favourite.

4. Clif Bar Shot Bloks - Energy Chews

Another See.Sense favourite here. We first tried these when they were given out in a sportive goodie bag. They can be eaten 15 minutes before riding to increase your blood sugar levels, followed by 3-6 shots per hour during activity. These are really sweet so remember to drink plenty of water too.

5. PowerBar Powergel Shots

Sweets or sports nutrition? Or both? We love these little PowerGel shots as they are just like something you would eat when you were little. BUT if you aren't into gels (or just don't love the consistency of them as some people don't), 5 of these shots deliver the about same amount of carbohydrates as 1 gel.

We will be giving away this nutritional survival kit along with a See.Sense ACE Rear light to keep you visible on our Instagram page at 3pm on Wednesday 13th March, so make sure to check out our page here to get entering.
