At See.Sense, we're passionate about harnessing the power of technology to make cycling safer and more enjoyable for riders everywhere. That's why we're thrilled to be a part of an innovative project that's not only transforming the cycling experience in Jersey but also setting a global standard for data stewardship. For the past year, in collaboration with Digital Jersey, our lights and data insights have played a key role in the Jersey LifeCycle data trust project.

A Groundbreaking Initiative

The LifeCycle data trust project is a pioneering effort to establish the world's first data trust under Jersey Trust Law. Spearheaded by Digital Jersey, this visionary pilot aims to position Jersey as a global leader in data stewardship.

Central to the LifeCycle project is the invaluable contribution of local cyclists. Over 500 cyclists in Jersey have enthusiastically embraced the initiative, utilising See.Sense bike light sensors to collect data on their cycling journeys. 

This data not only serves to enhance the safety and efficiency of cycling infrastructure but also fosters a sense of community engagement and empowerment among riders.

Insights for Safer Cycling

Through the collaborative efforts of Digital Jersey and See.Sense, the LifeCycle project has already yielded remarkable results. With over 100,000 kilometres of cycling data collected, valuable insights have been generated to improve cycling conditions and safety measures in Jersey. From identifying high-risk areas to optimising cycling routes, these insights are driving tangible improvements that benefit cyclists and communities alike.

See.Sense bike light sensors play a crucial role in the LifeCycle project, providing real-time data on cyclists' experiences on the road. By capturing data on factors such as road surface quality, traffic congestion, and incident hotspots, See.Sense technology empowers cyclists and decision-makers with actionable insights to create safer and more cyclist-friendly environments.
