We are looking for a talented Full Stack Developer with cloud compute experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating scalable, data-driven solutions, and a desire to make a positive impact in cities around the world by helping to enable more people to cycle and travel sustainably. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS services (CloudWatch, Athena, Glue, QuickSight), relational database design, and visualisation tools
  • Develop mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
  • Mentor and coach technical staff, sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in full stack development, with a strong focus on AWS technologies
  • Proficient in Python and relational database design
  • Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and Android
  • Strong understanding of data visualisation tools and techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desirable:

  • Experience or interest in the cycling industry
  • Familiarity with data analysis and machine learning techniques
  • Previous experience working with geospatial data
  • Development of embedded firmware

Job Description

See.Sense are seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions to enhance data analysis for urban infrastructure planning. The ideal candidate will have a background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a focus on designing and implementing algorithms to process large datasets and extract valuable insights for our clients. You will work as part of the See.Sense team to develop and deploy AI/ML models, ensuring consistent, efficient, and scalable data analysis solutions.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to understand project requirements and define AI/ML solutions to address data analysis challenges.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing AI/ML models to process and analyse large datasets from micro-mobility sensors.
  • Evaluating and refining AI/ML models to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in data analysis.
  • Integrating AI/ML solutions into existing data analysis workflows, enabling automation and scalability.
  • Continuously researching advancements in AI/ML technologies to identify opportunities for further innovation and improvement.
  • Communicating complex AI/ML concepts to non-technical team members and clients in a clear and concise manner.

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with TUS (Midlands Campus) and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2.2 degree in Data Analysis/Software Development/Computer Science/Business Computing.
  • If necessary, you must have a valid work permit/visa in place allowing you to work legally in Northern Ireland and eligible to travel into Rep of Ireland.

Desirable Criteria

  • An Honours Degree, Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a specialisation in AI/ML.
  • Proven experience working on AI/ML projects within the urban planning, infrastructure, or transportation sectors.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data analysis.
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages, such as Python, R, Java, or C++, which can be useful for working with various data processing tools and frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate with team members across different disciplines and departments.
