Urban mobility is changing fast. E-bikes are booming, but decision-makers still face major data blind spots.
Cities lack visibility into near-miss incidents, unsafe road conditions, and real-time usage patterns.
Employers struggle to quantify the impact of sustainable commuting on their workforce and CO₂ savings.
Fleet operators face high insurance and maintenance costs because rider behaviour and vehicle wear are poorly understood.
Spinovate is here to change that.
Spinovate transforms e-bikes into real-time mobility sensors using See.Sense’s patented IoT technology. Unlike conventional GPS trackers, our devices capture advanced telemetry:
Braking, swerving, and collision detection
Road surface quality
Speed and dwell time
This data is fed into AI-powered dashboards co-created with stakeholders to ensure they deliver value where it matters most.
Dashboards for cities: Reveal safety risks, near-miss hotspots, and infrastructure performance.
Dashboards for fleet operators: Provide predictive maintenance tools, rider safety scores, and insights to reduce insurance costs.
Dashboards for employers: Measure CO₂ savings and ESG impact from sustainable commuting initiatives.
We’re deploying 60 connected e-bikes across three different use cases:
Public bike share with Moby Bikes
Private corporate fleet at East Point Business Park
Independent couriers operating city-wide
Over 9 months, we’ll target 25 high-risk cycling zones in the Dublin metro area for deep analysis. Stakeholder workshops led by the University of Exeter ensure that the dashboards are co-designed with real users, from councils to couriers.
By turning connected e-bikes into urban mobility sensors, Spinovate will:
Support smarter, safer cycling infrastructure planning
Help fleet operators cut costs with predictive insights
Enable employers to report real sustainability impact
Accelerate the shift to cleaner, healthier cities across Europe
Spinovate is powered by a strong consortium:
See.Sense – cycling technology and patented IoT sensors
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council – city demo host
Moby Bikes – bike share partner
University of Exeter – stakeholder engagement and design expertise
